Christmas Eve is exactly a week away, and we are in the homestretch!
While the clock winds down and our schedules somehow wind up, we want to leave you with one last message this holiday season. While this time of year lends itself to frivolity, it is with great emphasis we impress upon you that this season is for time with family and friends and for reaching out to others in a time of need if able. Love, faith, and kindness should all be on our Christmas lists.
As we weave our way through the telling of our designs featured in this year’s Christmas collection, we want to remind you of the theme that will help us impart this message.
A Christmas Carol is a story by author Charles Dickens originally published on December 19, 1843. The tale describes the story of one Ebenezer Scrooge, an elderly man who many would describe as a stingy being, and quite a stiff one at that. Visited by his old business partner, Jacob Marley, and three ghosts throughout this tale, Scrooge’s heart transforms and he becomes a kinder, softer man.
The theme of the story has been reflected on ever since its release as it reminds people to be not only kind to others, but to help them if they are able. While chasing wealth became a priority for Scrooge, nothing could replace the truly valuable things in life such as family, friends, joy, love, and grace, something he missed out on for years. Although he was met with redemption towards the end of the story, it reminds us to live our lives in a way that emphasizes compassion, charity, and forgiveness.
